Overview
Pathshala is an online course WordPress theme for schools that teach skills over the internet: web and code, design and video, English and IELTS, business and marketing, career and office. It shows a student where a course leads, what is inside it and what the whole road costs.
Pathshala means a village school, and the design is an exercise book. Ruled paper with a red margin, ink-blue text, highlighter marks and taped cards. Headings use Nunito, and short notes appear in handwritten Kalam.
Who Pathshala is for
A teacher who sells a handful of recorded courses. A training centre moving its batches online. A group of instructors who want one shop, with each teacher’s logo shown on the homepage.
Students rarely buy one course. They buy a goal, such as a first freelance client or a better IELTS band. This online course WordPress theme is set up around that idea.
An online course WordPress theme built around goals
The Pick your goal block has tabs for goals such as build websites, freelance design, Band 7 in IELTS or grow an online shop. Each goal becomes a numbered road of courses, in the order you set per course.
Every stop shows its hours and level. At the end of the road, the student sees the total hours and the total price, with one button that enrols them in the whole path.
That button matters. A student aiming for freelance design can take the full road in one checkout instead of adding four courses one at a time.
Peek inside
Before paying, people want to see the syllabus. Peek inside has course tabs, and each course opens as folding modules with their lessons, a free-preview lesson and the course facts.
It is the online version of flipping through a textbook at the shop counter, and it answers most “what will I learn?” messages before they are sent.
17 homepage blocks, in any order
Switch any block off or drag it to a new place; on a phone the arrows do the same job. Notebook hero slides start the page, and subject tiles show your categories.
Most enrolled sorts popular courses into tabs by category. New courses fills two rows with the latest, and Enrolment offers adds a countdown with stock bars for early-bird prices.
Three department blocks each pair a banner with eight courses. Learn by level offers four cards, Shop by budget uses price tiles, Trending now is a sliding row and Top rated lists the highest-rated courses.
Our teachers shows logos, Study notes brings in your latest three posts, and the promise strip covers instant access, certificate, pay your way and help.
Course pages, checkout and access
Each course page in this online course WordPress theme lists quick facts for length, level, language, format and validity, then explains how access works. Reviews sit in a fold, with a popup to write the first one.
Checkout is online and on one page, and it never asks for an address. Instant access goes to the student by email, and an “Order placed” popup confirms the order on screen.
Sign in and register open in a popup, so a student can log in without losing the syllabus they were reading. The wishlist holds courses saved for next month’s budget, and the order tracking page shows where each enrolment stands.
Running the school
Pathshala runs on Themeve Commerce, which is bundled and installed for you. Students pay with bKash, Nagad, SSLCommerz or manual payment.
Coupons work well for batch discounts and referral codes. Invoices, SMS and OTP, Telegram alerts for new enrolments and Facebook Pixel with Conversion API are all part of the plugin.
On phones the header keeps menu, logo and cart, and course cards turn compact. The whole site is fully responsive, so the ruled-paper look still reads well on a small screen.
Make it your school
Pathshala → Theme Options holds every setting, and the dashboard works on a phone. Search for a setting, save from the sticky bar, export or import your settings, or reset them.
Five palettes are ready: Exercise book, Chalk green, Red pen, Graph paper and Purple ink. Each colour can also be set by hand, so the margin can match your school’s own red or blue.
There are four font pairs: Kalam notes with Nunito, Patrick Hand with Lato, Lexend on its own and DM Sans on its own. Google Fonts loading can be switched off.
Learning paths, syllabus previews, categories and offers share one section, while product cards, the course page, header, footer and contact each have their own. Menus live in Pathshala → Menus, and the logo in Appearance → Customize → Site Identity.
What comes in the package
The one-click demo, “Pathshala — Online Courses”, adds 21 courses from 5 invented teachers with learning paths, syllabus previews, study notes, menus and every page. How Access Works, FAQ, Track Order and the policy pages are included, ready for your own course names and prices.
Pathshala needs WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 7.4+, and it is tested up to WordPress 7.1.
