Overview
Rupkar is a designer portfolio WordPress theme for freelance designers, brand builders, illustrators and small creative studios. It puts your best work up front, explains what you offer and roughly what it costs, and turns a curious visitor into a written project brief. There is no shop to set up, only your portfolio and a clear way to hire you.
The name means “the one who gives things form”.
Who Rupkar is for
Logo and identity designers, UI and UX freelancers, packaging and web designers, illustrators. If clients usually reach you through a link in your bio or a friend’s referral, this is the page they land on, and it should answer their first questions before they message you.
A header that says you are available
The header floats as a rounded bar at the top of the page. It carries your name with an accent dot, the menu, an availability pill, a light and dark switch and a “Let’s talk” button.
The pill reads “Available for new projects” while you are taking work, and you can set it to booked when your calendar is full. On phones the menu opens full screen.
No logo yet? Leave it empty in Appearance → Customize → Site Identity and Rupkar shows your name with the accent dot instead.
A designer portfolio WordPress theme with 12 homepage blocks
The homepage is built from 12 blocks. Each one can be switched off or dragged into a new order, and on a phone you move them with arrows.
The intro opens with a big headline and one highlighted word. Your portrait sits beside it with floating skill tags and a rating badge, followed by a few numbers and a moving line of skills.
Client logos scroll past in a quiet row. Services shows four offers, each with a price and what is included, and Process walks through four steps with timing.
About me brings your photo, your story, skill bars and the tools you use. Packages lays out three options with one highlighted. After that come a testimonials slider, an FAQ that opens and closes, the three latest journal articles and a closing contact band.
Selected work and case-study pages
Your projects are ordinary posts in the Work category. Its sub-categories, such as Branding or Web, become the filter pills above the grid, and the newest project always shows first.
Hover a project and the cursor turns into a “View” label. Click through and each project opens as a proper case study, not just a row of pictures.
A facts row lists the client, year, role, timeline and a live link. Below it sit the headline result, a “what I did” section and a link to the next project. You fill the client, year and result in each project’s “Project details” box.
The project estimator that writes the brief for you
This is the block clients like to play with. They pick a project type, add extras and choose a deadline, and Rupkar shows a price range and a timeline.
You set the base prices in Theme Options, and the range runs from 10% below to 20% above that base. When a visitor clicks “Send this to me”, the contact form opens with their choices already written in.
Enquiries without the back-and-forth
The contact form has chips for project type and budget, so people tap instead of typing. Beside it you get an email copy button and a booking link for anyone who would rather pick a time to talk.
Every message is kept under Rupkar → Enquiries, so nothing gets buried in a busy inbox. The form lives on the Contact page, and the [rupkar_contact] shortcode places it on any other page.
In the footer, a live clock shows the time in your city.
Make this designer portfolio WordPress theme yours
Everything sits in Rupkar → Theme Options, starting with the homepage layout. Each block then has its own settings section, and a Live Customizer waits in the same menu.
Six color palettes are ready: Violet & lime, Tomato, Forest, Ocean, Rose and Mono. You can also set each color by hand, and visitors can switch to dark mode with the moon button in the header.
Five font pairs cover most moods: Bricolage Grotesque with Inter, Syne with DM Sans, the editorial Fraunces with Inter, Space Grotesk with Inter and an all-sans Outfit option.
The settings screen has a search box, a sticky save bar, reset and export or import. Menus are managed in Rupkar → Menus: a main menu, footer links and a separate row for legal links.
What is in the package and how setup goes
Rupkar runs on the Themeve Commerce plugin, which comes bundled and installs from Rupkar → Setup in one click. In your dashboard it shows up as Site engine, and there is no store to manage.
The one-click demo builds the whole designer site: 8 case studies across branding, UI and UX, web and packaging, 6 journal articles, services, packages, estimator prices, testimonials, the FAQ, the contact form, menus and every page. All pictures are original illustrations and every name is a sample, ready for your own work.
This designer portfolio WordPress theme needs WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 7.4+, and it is tested up to WordPress 7.1. It is built for phones first and fully responsive.

Frequently Asked Questions
01Is Rupkar a portfolio or an online store?
A portfolio. It is a personal website for showing your work, explaining your services and collecting enquiries, with no store to run.
02Do I need to know code to set it up?
No. Projects are normal posts, and the homepage, colors, fonts, estimator and contact details are all set in Rupkar → Theme Options.
03Is the Themeve Commerce plugin included?
Yes. Rupkar runs on it and it comes bundled, so Rupkar → Setup installs it in one click.
04How does the project estimator work?
Visitors pick a project type, extras and a deadline, and see a price range from 10% below to 20% above your base price, plus a timeline. “Send this to me” opens the contact form with those choices written in.
05How do I add a new project and its filter?
Publish a post in the Work category and put it in a sub-category such as Branding or Web, which becomes a filter pill. Add the client, year and result in its “Project details” box.
06Where do contact form messages end up?
Every message is kept under Rupkar → Enquiries. The form sits on the Contact page, and the [rupkar_contact] shortcode adds it to any other page.
07Can I change the colors and fonts?
Yes. Choose one of 6 palettes or set each color yourself, and pick from 5 font pairs. Visitors can also switch to dark mode with the moon button.
08What does the demo import set up?
A sample freelance designer with 8 case studies, 6 journal articles, services, packages, estimator prices, testimonials, FAQ, contact form, menus and every page, ready for your own work.
