Overview
Why this Bangla newspaper WordPress theme feels like a real daily
Readers know what a front page should look like. Dainik Alo follows that layout: a lead story at the top, a red breaking ticker, sticky navigation and a header teaser with three stories beside the logo. Making a story the lead is simple. Mark the post as Sticky and it becomes the biggest story on the homepage. Add the breaking tag and it runs in the ticker for up to two days. The header teaser can pull from photo and video posts, the latest news, the most popular stories or a category you pick. E-paper and login links sit in the header too.More than 15 homepage sections
The homepage is built from 15+ sections. In News Dashboard → Homepage sections you drag them into order, switch them on or off and set the title, category and layout of each one, with eight layouts to choose from. The demo shows how it fits together: a lead block, Video, Bangladesh with a My area news finder, World, Opinion and Business, each in its own style. Swap a category in a few clicks when a big story breaks.Local news from 494 upazilas
When you activate or update this Bangla newspaper WordPress theme, it creates all 8 divisions, 64 districts and 494 upazilas. Names are in Bangla and links stay in English, such as /area/dhaka/gazipur/kaliakair/. Reporters tick the district or upazila in the area box while writing. Readers use the My area news box on the homepage, on the Bangladesh category page and on every area page.Story pages readers enjoy
A News options box under the editor holds the shoulder line, subtitle, reporter, primary category and a video link. Paste a YouTube or Facebook link there and the video takes the place of the photo. Videos work inside the story as well. Put a YouTube link, Shorts included, or a Facebook video or reel link on its own line, and a responsive player appears. Single news pages offer reactions, Save for later, share tools, text size and related news. Comments are open to logged-in readers only, can be sorted by newest, oldest or most popular, and go live after you approve them.Reader accounts and a correspondent role
A small popup handles login, sign up and forgotten passwords, with limits on wrong attempts and spam sign-ups. Readers get an account page with their saved stories, display name, email and password. Google and Facebook login work through the Nextend Social Login plugin, which you install in one click from the News Dashboard. A Correspondent user role lets district reporters write and submit news, while the editor decides what gets published.Ready pages that save your team work
Several pages are created for you. The Latest page has a live hero with today's news, the last hour and the latest update, category chips, a day-by-day timeline and a notice when new stories arrive. The Photo gallery uses a masonry grid with a lightbox, and the Video gallery has a dark design with a playlist and a popup player. The Archive shows a monthly calendar with the number of stories per day and a category filter. The Converter page holds seven tools: Bijoy to Unicode, digit conversion, taka in words, Bangabda and Hijri dates, age, land measurement and word count. District News, Search and Contact pages complete the set.Ads, fonts and the News Dashboard
A news site has to pay its way, so Dainik Alo gives you 11 ad placements. Each one can be switched on or off and take ad code or an image with a link, with a size and device choice. In-article ads go after the paragraphs you choose, such as the third and seventh. Homepage ads can follow a set number of sections, sidebar ads can stay sticky, and on mobile an ad can float at the bottom. Seven Bangla fonts are bundled, so no Google Fonts are loaded. Tiro Bangla is the default, and headings and body text can switch separately to SolaimanLipi, Kalpurush, Hind Siliguri, Noto Serif Bengali, Noto Sans Bengali or Anek Bangla. The News Dashboard overview shows total and today's news, reads, comments, a 7-day graph, the most-read stories and a setup checklist. Other tabs cover the header, news pages, footer, social and app links, and Google News follow buttons that one switch controls. Tools import or remove demo content, export and import settings, refresh permalinks and reset the homepage. Settings stay in sync with the Customizer, so you can work in either place.Try the Bangla newspaper WordPress theme first
