Overview
Pathshala is a theme in our range of WordPress ecommerce website templates, made for schools that sell skills over the internet. It turns a course catalogue into clear learning paths, shows the syllabus before payment and sends instant access by email after an online checkout that never asks for an address.
The design looks like an exercise book: ruled paper, a red margin, ink-blue text, highlighter marks and taped cards. Short notes appear in a handwritten font. The look is friendly, and the structure behind it is built for selling courses in Bangladesh, with bKash, Nagad and SSLCommerz ready to use.
Who can use these WordPress ecommerce website templates
Pathshala suits anyone who sells knowledge as a product. The demo teaches web and code, but the same layout works for many subjects. You can use it for:
- A single teacher who sells a handful of recorded courses
- A training centre that is moving its batches online
- A group of instructors who want one shop, with each teacher's logo on the homepage
- Language and IELTS coaching, with levels and target bands
- Design, video editing and freelancing classes
- Business, marketing and office-skill training
- Career courses such as accounts, typing or spoken English
If you plan to open a small online school and compare online shopping ecommerce website templates first, start with the course tools listed below. The demo content is only a sample. Delete it and add your own courses, teachers and prices.
Built for students who buy a goal, not a course
Students rarely buy one course. They buy a result, such as a first freelance client or a better IELTS score. Pathshala is set up around that idea, so a student sees where a course leads and what the whole road costs. Compared with a generic shop layout, this makes the choice much easier.
Pick your goal
- Tabs for each goal, such as build websites, freelance design or Band 7 in IELTS
- Each goal becomes a numbered road of courses, in the order you set per course
- Every stop shows its hours and its level
- At the end, the student sees the total hours and the total price
- One button enrols the student in the whole path in a single checkout
Peek inside
- Course tabs, each opening as folding modules with their lessons
- A free-preview lesson for every course
- The course facts beside the syllabus
It works like flipping through a textbook at a shop counter. It answers most "what will I learn?" messages before anyone sends them.
Light and quick to load
Speed matters on mobile data, and many WordPress ecommerce website templates are heavy. Pathshala is not. The front-end scripts of the theme do not use jQuery. Images load lazily, so a long homepage does not pull every picture at once. The files are small for a theme with this many blocks.
If you want the fastest possible pages, switch off web fonts in Theme Options and the site falls back to system fonts. Gentle motion, such as pictures that fade in, can be switched off as well.

How Pathshala helps you sell courses
A course page that only lists a price makes people ask questions. Pathshala puts the answers on the page, which most WordPress ecommerce website templates leave to you.
- A beginner sees a road with an order, instead of twenty unrelated titles
- A student who is unsure watches the free-preview lesson first
- A buyer on a phone pays with bKash or Nagad without typing an address
- A teacher with four related courses sells all four in one checkout
- An early-bird offer with a countdown and stock bar gives people a reason to decide this week
Plain online shopping ecommerce website templates are made for physical goods. They ask for a delivery address, show stock as boxes on a shelf and have no idea what a syllabus is. Pathshala treats a course as a course.
Set up in a few steps
- Upload the theme in Appearance → Themes and activate it.
- Open the Pathshala setup screen and add Themeve Commerce with one click.
- Run the one-click demo import to see a working school.
- Pick a palette and a font pair in Theme Options.
- Replace the sample courses with your own, and set the learning paths and syllabus previews.
- Add your payment details in the store settings and place a test order.
Like other WordPress ecommerce website templates, Pathshala is a normal WordPress theme, so hosting is simple. You need WordPress 6.0 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer. The theme is tested up to WordPress 7.1.
Why choose Pathshala over a plain template
- Learning paths, syllabus previews and a free lesson are part of the design, not add-ons
- Checkout and access are made for digital goods
- Local payment methods and Telegram alerts are inside the plugin
- Homepage blocks can be re-ordered without code
- The settings dashboard works on a phone
- One purchase gives you the theme, the store plugin and the demo content
If you only need a generic shop, any of our other themes will work. If you teach, this one saves you the work of bending a shop into a school.
