Overview

Ruchi is a Bangla-first WooCommerce theme for a grocery ecommerce website in Bangladesh: honey, ghee, oil, dates, nuts and spices, with a district and upazila checkout, cash on delivery and order tracking.

Ruchi is a WordPress theme for building a grocery ecommerce website in Bangladesh. It suits shops that sell honey, ghee, mustard oil, dates, nuts, spices, rice and other daily food. It opens in Bangla by default, and the checkout asks for a district and an upazila instead of a postcode. Delivery charges, cash on delivery and order tracking by mobile number are ready to use. Ruchi runs on the free WooCommerce plugin, so you get a real shop with a cart, stock, coupons and orders.

Import the demo in one click and you get 14 products in 7 categories, 4 photos per product, a coupon and every page a food shop needs. Change the photos and prices and your store can take its first order the same day.

Who needs a grocery ecommerce website in Bangladesh

Ruchi is made for sellers who know their buyers order on a phone, read Bangla and want to pay when the parcel arrives. It fits:

  • Honey and ghee brands that sell from a Facebook page today and want a proper shop.
  • Dry fruit and dates sellers, especially before Ramadan and Eid when orders jump.
  • Spice and mustard oil makers who sell their own packs.
  • Small grocery shops that deliver inside the city or by courier across the country.
  • Meat and rice sellers who take weekly orders from regular families.
  • Home food businesses that are tired of writing every order in a notebook.

If your aim is a grocery ecommerce website in Bangladesh that feels local, from the words on the buttons to the way the address is asked, Ruchi starts you on the right foot.

Bangla first, English with one click

Most grocery themes are written in English and need a translation plugin. Ruchi is different. The whole shop, the menus, the buttons, the checkout and even the theme dashboard open in Bangla. If you also sell to people who prefer English, go to Theme Options → Language and switch the whole site and the dashboard to English. No translation plugin is needed in either case.

The fonts are chosen for clear Bangla text on small screens, so product names and prices stay easy to read on a cheap phone in bright sunlight.

A checkout made for Bangladesh

A normal WooCommerce checkout asks for a country, a state and a postcode. Many buyers do not know their postcode, and the extra fields make them give up. Ruchi replaces that form with a short checkout built for local delivery:

  • District, then upazila: the buyer picks the district from a list, and the upazila list fills in for that district.
  • Mobile number as the main contact, with an optional second number for the delivery person.
  • Two delivery options: the demo uses point delivery for ৳60 and home delivery for ৳80, and you can change both prices.
  • Coupon box right on the checkout, so buyers can apply an offer without going back to the cart.
  • Cash on delivery switched on from the start.

You decide in the theme options whether buyers can order as guests or must open an account first. Guest checkout gets more first orders, while accounts make repeat orders faster because the address is saved.

Ruchi features

Every part of the design helps a shopper find food quickly and trust you with the order.

A homepage you control block by block

The homepage has 8 blocks: a banner slider with a square side banner, categories, featured products, an offer banner, best sellers, all products with a Load more button, customer reviews and a FAQ list. Each block has its own on and off switch and its own settings in the dashboard, so you can hide the offer banner after Eid or change the FAQ list without touching code.

Product cards with your own buttons

Cards show the photo, name, price and sale price. You choose the text and colour of the Add to Cart and Buy Now buttons, or hide either one. Buy Now takes the buyer straight to the checkout, which suits people who want one jar of honey and nothing else.

Product pages that answer questions

Each product has a 4-photo gallery with hover zoom and a full-screen photo viewer. Below the price there are three tabs: Description, FAQ and Reviews. Use the FAQ tab for the questions buyers always ask in Messenger, such as how long ghee keeps or whether the honey is raw.

Order tracking without logging in

The Track Order page lets a buyer check an order with only the order number and the mobile number. That saves you many "where is my parcel?" calls.

Made for the phone

On a phone there is a tab bar at the bottom with home, categories, search, cart and account, plus a side drawer for the menu. A floating WhatsApp button lets buyers ask a question before they order. Inner pages skip heavy photo bands, so they open fast on mobile data.

Help pages included

The demo creates About, Contact, Blog, FAQ, Delivery, Return & Refund, Track Order, Saved Items, Privacy and Terms pages. Buyers who look for your return rules or delivery times find them on day one.

Running the shop from the dashboard

Ruchi uses the normal WordPress and WooCommerce dashboard, so there is no new system to learn.

Orders

New orders appear in WooCommerce → Orders with the name, mobile numbers, district, upazila and items. Change the status as you pack and send, and add notes for your team.

Products and stock

Add products with photos, prices, sale prices and stock. Sell by weight with WooCommerce variations such as 250 g, 500 g and 1 kg, each with its own price and stock.

Theme options

All settings sit on one page with a section picker that also works on a phone. Change colours, the logo, homepage blocks, card buttons, the delivery prices, the checkout mode and the WhatsApp number from there.

Licence and updates

Activate your licence key once on the licence page. After that, updates arrive in the dashboard and keep your content and settings.

Why Ruchi beats a plain grocery store ecommerce website templates pack

Many grocery store ecommerce website templates give you a pretty homepage in English and leave the checkout as a long foreign form. Ruchi styles every shop page, speaks Bangla, asks for the address the way couriers in Bangladesh need it, and ships with real demo content. You start from a finished shop instead of an empty one.

Unlike most grocery store ecommerce website templates, Ruchi also works with any WooCommerce plugin, so you can add bKash, Nagad, card payments or courier plugins later without changing the theme.

From download to first order

  1. Install WordPress and WooCommerce on your hosting.
  2. Upload Ruchi from Appearance → Themes → Add New and activate it.
  3. Activate your licence with the key from your Themeve account.
  4. Import the demo from Ruchi → Setup.
  5. Replace the demo with your logo, photos, prices and stock.
  6. Set delivery and payment: your two delivery prices, cash on delivery and any online gateway.
  7. Place a test order from your phone, then share the shop link on your page.

Food sells on photos. Shoot jars and packs in daylight on a plain background, keep the same angle for every product, and show the weight on the label. A phone camera is enough.

With Ruchi your grocery ecommerce website in Bangladesh can be live in an afternoon, and it will look like a real brand from the first visit.
